Effective Body Language

Good evening fellow Toastmasters.

Tonight, I’ll be working on effective body language.

(Shakes head)

Sighs.

Okay, I’m going to show you a clip tonight of something I’ve been working on, which

I hope it represents effective body language.

Oh man, I’m so embarrassed right now.

As a Korean, our faces generally get red upon drinking or shyness.

But I don’t.

But I can feel the heat on my face right now!

Okay, that was the introduction.

Today’s speech is about

the expression of one’s own personality,

or assertion of one’s individual traits.

When I was 13 years old, my time was spent working to provide for myself,

And going to school,

And trying to make sure no one reported me to an orphanage or social worker.

It was pretty stressful sometimes.

And so, the house I stayed at was off the main road, in the wilderness.

I would play music as loud as I could,

And I could think about nothing else but the movements and rhythm.

Everything else dropped away.

Sometimes, we like detachment.

And

So here’s to more effective body language

(while stopping screen sharing) I’m not quite sure what self-expression for me is quite yet,

But

I

Am

Confident

That

I will find out.

Thank you (bow)

For Thomas – Here’s the call to action: come boogy?
