A Poem for January 31st, 2023

This poem is dedicated to

One of the ways I relax when all is chaos,

is to remember a time in Hawaii,

on lapping waves,

far beyond the cresting breakline,

I lay with my cheek on the surfboard,

my eyes lazily closed,

all went warm yellow.

I peeked out to see a turle doing the same,

basking the sunlight,

hoping for a green flash.
